Frequently asked questions

For how long will I need counselling/psychotherapy?

Different people choose to engage in therapy for different lengths of time. I am able to offer either short or long term therapy. This can be discussed together during the initial consultation and can be reviewed as the treatment progresses. Long-term treatment is on an open-ended basis and the ending of the treatment is normally agreed and planned together in advance.

Will everything I say be kept confidential?

Everything that is said within the counselling room is confidential. Note that there are some situations where you may be a risk to yourself or others, and there the law requires that I notify an authority; in these cases I may not be able to keep total confidentiality.

How long I have to wait for an appointment?

My aim is to offer a first appointment within 1-7 days
